Play therapists are fully licensed clinicians just like the clinical staff listed above, with the addition of specialized training in treating problems with children using the natural language and process of play. Play therapists that have completed training and supervised clinical hours are recognized with the RPT (registered play therapist) credential from the Association of Play Therapy.
Interns have completed their academic studies and have earned their masters' degrees in counseling psychology or social work. They must then complete an average of two years of clinical practice while being supervised by an experienced clinician who has had specialized training in providing clinical supervision, and been recognized by their respective clinical board of licensing as an approved supervisor.
Veteran services staff are all Veterans themselves and provide peer support services, case management services, or therapy services to active duty military, Veterans, and their families. We are committed to supporting and serving Veterans and their loved ones.
Zero Suicide staff helps WTCG to provide best practice suicide prevention through assessment and treatment of those with suicidal thoughts and/or behavior, while also providing suicide prevention and postvention programming to agencies and individuals within the community.
Clinical consultants are experts in their respective mental health specialty. Consultants provide training and ongoing clinical consultation with the clinical staff of WTCG in order to help us to ensure we are providing the highest quality and most effective psychotherapy services available in the Concho Valley.
