Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Weight Loss

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Weight Loss

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help clients reach weight-loss goals. In fact, it is the missing ingredient lacking in most weight-loss programs.
When diets fail, it's often not the diet's fault, but rather our inability to stick to it, change our thinking when tempted, or unmotivated, and change our behavior to align with our goals.  Cognitive therapy for weight loss will teach you how to think differently in order to change your eating behavior. You can have the best diet, the best exercise regimen, and feel motivated, but unless you learn to change your thinking you won't be able to sustain it.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for weight loss aims at changing both behavior and thinking. CBT prepares clients with useful tasks and skills so that they know exactly what to do when dieting gets hard. Strategies you will learn include: how to talk back to sabotaging thoughts; how to motivate yourself continuously; how to deal with cravings or temptations to cheat; and, how to deal with slip-ups, and not give up. If you are struggling with making healthy lifestyle changes, consider how your thoughts and habits may be getting in your way. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for weight loss may be the missing link to help you overcome the barriers.
