Tara received her Bachelor’s degree in Child Developmental Psychology from Kaplan University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in counseling from Walden University. She grew up in South Texas around Corpus Christi and spent her middle and high school years in Dallas, TX. Tara is the spouse of a Disabled Combat Veteran from the US Army. Due to being active in the Family Readiness Group during her husband’s active duty, she realized the need for more mental health professionals to assist veterans and their families.
She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2015 certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Tara recertified her Licensed Professional Counselor from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors in 2020.
Tara has worked in several different environments providing services through individual and group therapy for those in need. Tara has provided therapeutic services for substance use disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Sexual and Domestic Abuse, depression, self-esteem concerns, and numerous other mental health concerns.
Tara has worked with members of the LGBTQ+ community, Veterans/Active Duty and their families, and suicide prevention. Tara uses an eclectic approach, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, as well as others to assist her clients.
Tara is located at the Cactus Hotel Building in Downtown San Angelo at 36 E. Twohig.
