Kris is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, through the State of New Mexico, with a passion for providing the utmost quality of mental health services to individuals ages 3 and older. Kris received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology and Master of Arts in Counseling degrees from Eastern New Mexico State University.  Kris is a Hobbs, New Mexico native, having been born and raised in the town.

Kris completed her Master’s graduate internship experience working with adults in Drug Court in a probation/parole setting in Clovis, New Mexico at the 9th Judicial Court.  In this capacity, she worked with individuals battling drug and alcohol addictions with the goals of becoming and staying clean and sober, both for their lives and to help them stay out of prison/jail while on probation or parole. The clients received both group and individual counseling to help them achieve their goals of sobriety.

Kris has provided counseling services to individuals recovering from trauma (PTSD), abuse, addiction, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, suicidal thinking, self-harm, poor communication skills, and self-esteem. She has received training in multiple modalities including TF-CBT, Sand Tray, CFTSI, AF-CBT, PSR, and others during the course of her 8 year career.

Kris primarily implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment interventions in her practice to assist clients in overcoming and understanding their unhealthy or dysfunctional thought processes, with the goal of the client being in control of the way they feel. She also uses Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients experiencing PTSD from trauma begin to take control of their lives.

Kris’s clinical vision is to “develop a trusting mutual relationship with clients in a warm and secure environment”. She is passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and youth as well as working with small children who have experienced trauma from abuse/neglect.
