What? A LOSS Team is made up of trained suicide loss survivors & mental health professionals that go to the scene of a suicide to provide immediate support to those left behind.d
Why? The model was originally created by Dr. Frank Campbell at the Baton Rouge Crisis and Traumatic Loss Center in 1998. Dr. Campbell identified that it was taking loss survivors an average of more than 4 years before reaching out for support, but help is reduced to less than 60 days when a peer shows up.
Should I sign up for Train the Trainer? By attending all four days (September 6-9) of the training with Dr. Campbell you will become certified to take the LOSS Team and Survivors of Suicide support group model back into your own communities. Starting a team in your local area will benefit the newly bereaved, officers on scene responding, and allows an installation of hope in your community for just $3,500. This training will also provide 24 CE credits.
A WTCG representative will follow up regarding any additional information or payment needs. For more information, email Nicole Elliott at [email protected].
