Mariam obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California State University, East Bay, and her Master of Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino. She is supervised by Karren Johnson, LCSW-S in accordance with the rules of the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.
Mariam completed her graduate internships at a school and in a hospital. In these capacities, she worked with a variety of people and age groups. Additionally, Mariam gained experience working with families and group settings. She has worked with issues including grief, parenting concerns, anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, trauma, substance use, and life changes and transitions.
Mariam recently moved back to San Angelo from California after working with the homeless population in Los Angeles. Mariam is excited about working with the Zero Suicide Services in the Concho Valley and has a huge passion for advocating, empowering, and assisting clients in overcoming adversity and acknowledging their resiliency.
Mariam worked in the AmeriCorp VISTA program with WTCG in 2017. Mariam returned to WTCG fulltime and has been on staff since 2020. She is located at our Concho Suites location - 133 W. Concho Ave, Suite 102.
